You can not reset the gear box. This is an really old construction from the 80's and it has neither intelligence nor learning capabilities. It is not comparable to a microprocessor and software controlled automatic transmission like those in modern cars.
Also you can not compare the Xedos gear box with the smooth and gentle gear boxes in Mercedes-Benz cars from that decade.
If it is shifting irregular or abnormal you need to change the oil in it. If that doesn't help, the gear box is sick and needs recreation as last consequence.
