Ford Probe 2.5 v6
Will the Ford probe V6 engine work also?
If it has egr and nocksensor? = ) |
Yes it work. The camshaft cover can be replaced with a Mazda signed.
In my opinion the X6 has no Nocksensor an he don´t need it. Thats no problem, all sensor witch have no part on the main wiring, need no attention. |
Gaskets...
Hi there! = )
This week i will get the (ford Probe -93) KL 2.5l v6 engine! I need to buy some gaskets. Kan i buy from a mazda dealer to the ford probe engine? I guess the answer is yes but I first check here with you = ) Thank!! Anders |
In fact the parts should be the same, if you by it at Mazda dealer or Ford dealer.
But I expect lower prices at Ford dealer! |
You can also buy the gaskets and timing belt kit from Ebay.com
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-Ford-K...9V~HA8&vxp=mtr + http://www.ebay.com/itm/Timing-Belt-...item5d3cb29c61 + http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-02-Mazda-...item3cb2b0f13a ore http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-94-Mazda-...item33639efded waterpump are different at the wheel. There you have to look which on is the right. Only from the camshaft covers you should buy original Mazda parts. They are the only one who get seal. |
When you buy from US the shipping is more expensive than Germany and you get tax sometimes..
Any good on Ebay.de ?? Thanx!!! |
Zitat:
I made the experiance, that althoug you have higher shipping costs and import taxes that its cheaper sometimes. I don't know how its handeled in sweden, but I expect its similar as in Austria. If I import from US I need to calculate the prices as follows: item prices in USD + shipping in USD (good average 50-70 USD) = total USD convert total USD to local currency and add appr. 23% (appr. 3% customs and 20% tax) At the moment the Dollar-EUR exchange rate is not so good for this. But especially if you compare the prices from eBay.com with prices at local Mazda/Ford dealer it makes often sence to buy from US. |

Just want to check one more time that its possible to
connect the Xedos 6 2.0 V6 distributor to the head of the KL 2.5 engine. Check the picture. They are different also. My Xedos 6 har seven ignition cabels. one extra for the ignition coil. The connection on KL 2.5 engine has one extra electric connection. (is it the coil inside?) No problem to connect it? Thanx!! |
The connection to the camshaft is the same, that is the only important thing.
Youre right the KF in the X6 has more ignition cables, that is the reason why you must use the complete one from X6 KF. |
The Xedos 6 with its original KF has seven ignition cables, because the seventh cable connects the distributor with the external ignition coil. K-Series V6 in other models have six ignition cables only, because there is the ignition coil integrated into the distributor.
Due to this fact, you can not simply replace the KF distributor with a KL distributor without changing the cable harness and the ECU. |
