Engine

Hello!
What direction do you take out the engine? Up or down? = )

The best and easiest direction?

Thanx!!

neo303 17.11.2015 09:52

i guess that depends on your circumstances: if you have a crane, you probably want to lift it (up); if you have a service lift, you probably want to "drop" it (down).
i have removed some k-engines from cars and always lifted them. but don't forget: therefore, you need to detach the exhaust system first. i usually unbolt the exhaust manifold directly at the cylinder heads. therefore, it's best to go under the car (something like a service lift or ramp comes in handy) - also to detach the engine hangers (which hold the engine in the car) and the axles...

VRIS 2.0 to 2.5

Hello again and thanks for the help before regarding changing engine from 2.0 to 2.5 v6.

Intake manifold:
We are almost there but now is the question about the VRIS and its look like some differens. I have two pictures taken. please look at them an explain if it will be problems with something. The location is not the same and the vacuum is not exactly the same setting.

Do i have to change the to the intake manifold of the 2.0 KF engine or will this work also?

THANX!!

Hello.

I cannot answer your question, but I have following recommendation to you:
Would highly recommend to remove all original vacuum hoses and use new silicon ones. I did the same at my Xedos 9, because all of them are min. 17 years old and possibillity for leackages is very high. Especially in your case when all of them are outside the car.
As you in any case have them more or less "in your hand" and easy to change with disassembled intake manifold.

Greetings.

PS: I mean something like this: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Original-Samc...item51c60613f6

Just select the right inside diameter.

That is no problem, cause you use the intake manifold from your X6.

It make sense to put the throttle from 2.5l on your X6 manifold.

I dont know about the one from X9, Probe and MX6 throttle fits to X6 manifold.

Compare with pictures will help you.

You have the answer some posts above.

Use the the complete manifold from KF engine.

You should transfer the throttle from KL manifold to kf manifold.

Not much left now for the engine swap to 2.5 KL but now the drive axel mount
doesn't fint from my 2.0 Xedos 6 to the KL 2.5. only one hole is there.

Do i need to buy other for the 2.5 KL engine? From MX-6 or ford probe?

Im added a picture.

Do you have any idees?
THANKS

Are you trying to use the gear box or drive shafts from the KL instead of the original parts from your Xedos 6?

You need to mount your X6's original gear box to the KL. The KL, KF and K8 are compatible, the gear boxes and the drive shafts aren't.

aw_309 17.02.2016 16:44

no I'm using the the gearbox from my 2.0 v6 Automatic.

wirthensohn 17.02.2016 16:48

Shouldn't this part be screwed to the gear box (which indeed is still the same as before)? Or do I remember wrong?
